Amity Rose & Garden Nursery Ordering Rose Plants

Ways to Order

Your order is personally managed by the two of us.  As a small business we view our relationship with our customers a lot like playing ball.  There has to be a play plan (order and confirmation), there has to be a pass (shipping) and there has to be a catch (receiving).  You'll find that our service is tops because Tracy puts his personal effort into growing a quality product, Janet does her utmost to serve as go-between between you and Tracy, and neither wants to see your order fumbled or intercepted before you get it.  If you order from us, please be willing to check your email or voicemail for our communications, and replying in a timely fashion, if required.  You MUST be sure your spam filter is set to allow email from AmityHeritageRoses.com .  We'll all (including the roses) be a lot better off.

Thanks, Tracy and Janet

We ask that you place your order using our Secure Order Form after you have checked the current Availability List.  The Order Form provides us with all the information we need to process and confirm your order most quickly and correctly.  It provides a place to give your preferred ship date and method of payment (credit card, money order, check, PayPal).  For your own protection, please DO NOT send your credit card information via regular email.  You can phone or fax your payment information into our voicemail system after we have confirmed your order. Web orders receive attention first because they present us with all the information necessary to reply efficiently (very important in a one-person office).  Also, sale prices and discounts are only valid if the original order confirmed is the one that ships.  Please list alternates on the order form if desired.    If the Secure Order Form is not responding, try emptying your cache and reloading/refreshing the order screen, or for orders only, please send an email to orders   2   AmityHeritageRoses.com (no spaces and change the 2 to @).

Typically we reply to web orders within 3 to 7 days, with a personal confirmation and total of your order. Occasionally network systems go down so in the unlikely event that you don't hear from us check your spam filter.  If the confirmation is not there then contact us to see if we received your communication.

We accept AmEx, Discover, Visa, MC
PayPal markmoney orders and personal checks.  Shipping only occurs after payment is received.  Credit cards and PayPal Invoices are processed shortly before shipping.  U.S. Checks and moneyorders are required within two weeks of the order confirmation in order to hold the plants.  They are deposited upon receipt.  Returned NSF checks have an additional $25 fee levied to whatever the bank charges us for their return fee.    International Orders must be paid via credit card.

Within a week of the confirmed shipdate, customer canceled orders have a $10 processing fee retained.

2008 Prices
Our Modern and Old Garden Roses in 6-inch tall band pots are $12.50 each plus shipping & handlingSpecial and patented varieties usually cost $1.50 more.  Details and sale prices are kept current on the Availability List   Discount possibilities are explained on the Ways to Save page of our website.

State sales tax of 7.25% is added to plant price and handling charges on orders shipped within California.

Shipping and Handling Fees
At time of shipping our plants are typically full of roots and lush with leaves. This type of plant can suffer if shipping takes over 5 business days.  Getting your plants to you in the same healthy condition in which they left us is very important to us.  We don't hide the cost of shipping in the price of our plants.  Quality UPS shipping service costs more, and USPS Priority Mail is always the less expensive option unless you live on the West Coast for UPS ground and are ordering 4 or more plants.

The best shipping prices are achieved with even numbers of band pots, e.g 2 bands, 4 bands, 6 bands, etc.
Handling costs $5 per order which only partially covers the box, packaging materials and the time to wrap your order.  We have no minimum order, but we add an additional $3 fee for orders of just one plant.

UPS: For those who want to track their insured and guaranteed delivery packages we offer UPS ground* to ship to states in the Pacific and Mountain time zones, and  UPS 3-Day Delivery* for delivery to states in Central and Eastern time zones.  UPS is the more expensive choice (3-day delivery for orders of just one band costs more than the plant), but you can save a few dollars by shipping to a business address which has a public entry (not a "business at home" address).  *On very large orders UPS includes insurance of packages for $100, so please let us know if you want separate boxes shipped where the contents of each is worth no more than $100).  UPS orders ship on Mondays
Odd-sized box configurations (i.e. 1 gallon + 1 band) are not accepted by UPS and must be shipped via Priority Mail.

Priority Mail: For all time zones we ship US Priority Mail ("averaging 2-3 days" but can vary from 2 to 8+ days).  This service is our least expensive option as it is less reliable with no tracking capabilities.  If you choose Priority Mail and want insurance, please ask us to include insurance with your order (usually $1-3).   The PO has never lost anything of ours, but their "priority" service hasn't been very "priority" at times.  Priority Mail orders ship Tuesday - Saturday during our busiest times.  Discover card users who choose Priority Mail will be charged $2 for signature confirmation which is required by that credit card company.

Alaska and Hawaii orders are shipped via Priority Mail only.  International Orders are shipped via Express Mail International  by the US Postal Service.

Shipping costs are based on weight and distance.  Our band pots are about 1.5 lbs each.  You can compare the shipping costs from our terminal (Fortuna, CA 95540) to your location using these on-line calculators for USPS Priority Mail and UPS ground and 3-day .  The box sizes are approximately 20 x 4 x 4 inches per band pot.  Once you indicate on the order form which shipping method you want we will quote you the actual cost of that shipper plus our small handling fee of $5 per order.  UPS gives us slightly lower rates than will be generated at their website, and we pass that savings on to you when we confirm your order.  NB: We waive all delivery signatures unless requested on the order form (except for Priority Mail shipments purchased with a Discover Card where getting a signature is required.)

Gift Shipments
For our cost of the notecard we are happy to enclose a personal greeting in a gift shipment (details and space provided on the Secure Order Form).   Gift wrap and curly ribbon are complimentary if requested.  Our handmade PhotoCards of the rose variety ordered are available for an additional charge.

Gift Certificate imageGift Certificates are also available via mail or email.  We can make them for any denomination or for a particular variety you'd like us to send at a later date.  Just give us your instructions on the order form.
