Amber
Queen (Harkness 1983) Apricot/amber
blend with moderate fragrance. Blooming in large clusters on a
plant with large,
almost glossy, leaves. The huge list of international awards
listed in Botanica's Roses
book lets you know this is no slouch of a rose, as an exhibitor or in
the garden as a bedding plant! AARS 1988, 3 x 3 ft.
Apricot Nectar
(Bourner 1965)
Apricot blend, fruity fragrance, mid

Betty Boop™
(WEKplapic - Carruth 1999
PP#11517) Yellow ivory edged
in red. A real "eye-catching" shrub, get it? The Weeks
catalog reads, "The beloved American animated character has been
honored with a rose that matches her for spunk, sparkle, style and
stamina...the colors are so catchy and the abundant blooms repeat so
quickly...without deadheading or shaping." Fragrant too! 3+ x 3
ft.
Brilliant Pink
Iceberg PRObril PP12645 Floribunda, pink blend, disease
resistant,
Weatherly 1995, sport of Pink Iceberg. It's just impossible to go
wrong with any of the "Iceberg Family" so we've added one more! 4 x 3

Burgundy
Iceberg™ (PROsez - Weatherly 2003 PPAF) Floribunda, dark
red/mauve/burgundy,
fragrant, disease
resistant, nearly thornless with burgundy stamens! 4 x 3 ft, Z6 ***
Camille
Pisarro™ (Delbard
1996) Boy
does this one have a story. Years ago
I took
a watercolor class and asked some rose lovers about books that included
watercolors of roses. Diary
of a Rose Lover was recommended and since reading it the search
began to get the roses painted in the book. The frustration
mounted as we found the roses were hybridized in southern California,
but were not offered for sale anywhere in the USA! After
importing a few we are thrilled to be able to offer this vigorous one
of Delbard's Master Painter series. Yellow, striped with
pink/red, changing as in the age progression below. Very
floriforous and fragrant too. Disease
resistant. How happy it makes me to see it in our variety
list! Unfortunately we are not licensed to ship any Delbard roses
outside of the U.S. 4 x 3 ft.

Chihuly®
(WEKscemala - Carruth 2004 PPAF)
Red/orange/yellow
blend, named
after Dale Chihuly, the famous American glass artist. Just as
with glass, the sun plays its games with this rose, bringing out the
darker reds over time. Our cooler fall weather brought out the
stripes! Quite unique! Mild tea fragrance. Continuous
bloom. 3+ x 3
ft, Z6
Easy
Going™
(HARflow - Harkness 1996 PP#10478) Golden peachy
yellow,
fruity
fragrance, disease resistant, sport of Livin'
Easy so you
know it's
easy-care. 3 x 3 ft, Z6
Ebb
Tide™
(WEKsmopur - Carruth 2006) Smoky deep plum purple. I put
this in an arrangement at the rose
show and people were trailing behind me as I carried it in wanting to
know what the rose of unbelievably dark purple was. We think this
rivals some of the older Gallicas (and perhaps may surpass them since
it blooms all season long with large clove fragrant flowers). 4 x
3 ft.
Fire
'n' Ice
(Carruth & Christensen 1987) Red and white.
A very popular florist rose, displaying perfect high-centered form in
this photo. 4 x 2 ft, Z6
French
Lace (Warriner 1980)Ivory/apricot.
A classic. 3 x 2 ft, Z6
George
Burns WEKcalroc - Carruth 1998 PP#10334
The sun brings out the red and pink stripes on the yellow and cream
flowers. A rose that is sure to make you smile, and the real
George Burns wouldn't have had it any other way. Strong and
fruity fragrance which was most likely Gracie's idea to cover up
George's
cigar smoke! 3 x 3 ft, Z6
Geranium
Red
(1947) Wow, what a wonderfully fragrant rose. The only
thing I figure that went wrong in its popularity is that it had the
"old rose look" in a day when the high-centered
Hybrid Tea was "in". The color is also a most unusual Oriental
Lacquerware orange-red that will take
special planning for the color-coordinated gardener. We encountered
this rose for the first time blooming
in the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden and got permission to propagate it
to get it back into commerce. It's a keeper if fragrance and rebloom
are important. 3 x 2 ft.
Climbing Gold
Badge (Cl Gold Bunny)
(Meilland 1991) A climbing sport of the well-loved
continuous blooming, clear yellow floriforous plant. The flowers
are quite large and somewhat fragrant. Dark glossy foliage sets
off the yellow well. Excellent variety for warmer climates where
the yellow is praised to remain true. Shorter climber to 7 ft, Z6
Goldmarie
New
to us and we're certainly impressed enough to offer it. Yellow
with orange highlights, Kordes 1984, 3 x 2 ft
Hot
Cocoa™
(WEKpaltlez - Carruth 2003)
No other rose of this color on the market. Described as smoky
chocolate orange. Depending on your weather it may be more
chocolate or more orange too! One of our best disease resistant
varieties and the
flowers have a moderate old rose fragrance. We have lots this
year so no one should be disappointed. 4 x 3 ft, Z5/6
Intrigue (Warriner
1982)
Purple/mauve, very fragrant
double flowers borne both singly and in clusters. Good disease
resistant glossy dark green leaves. Upright and vigorous growth. A
hybrid of 'White Masterpiece' x 'Heirloom'. AARS 1984, 3+ x 2+ ft.
Judy
Garland (Harkness 1978)
A great performer with dazzling
multicolored yellow, orange and scarlet flowers of good rose and apple
fragrance. Glossy green leaves. 4 x 3+ ft, Z6
Julia Child
(Carruth 2006 PPAF)
If you ever enjoyed any of Julia Child's cooking shows you know how
much she loved butter. I can actually hear her telling Jacques
Pepin "more butter" in her distinctive voice. I think it's
wonderful that she picked out this butter yellow rose to bear her
name. The fragrance is strong licorice and spice.
Great disease resistance too. AARS winner 2006. One of my new
favorites for small spaces. 3 x 3 ft
Lime
Sublime™
(DICappeal - Dickson PPAF) Creamy
pastel chartreuse. One that stands out as it stands up in the
heat and humidity or in the milder northern climates. Slight
fragrance. Floriferous, dark green glossy leaves. 4 x 3 ft.
Livin'
Easy™ (HARwelcome,
Fellowship - Harkness
1996 PP#9161) Extremely
"easy" care
rose of apricot orange with blackspot resistant glossy foliage.
Moderate fruity fragrance. AARS 1996, Portland GM 1998 Vigorous,
floriforous and healthy! (Southampton x Remember Me)
4 x 4 ft,
Z5/6
Magenta
(Kordes 1954) Floribunda/Shrub.
Quite unique
mauve
blend which is understandable since one parent is 'Lavender
Pinocchio'. Very
fragrant, continuous blooming, OK in a pot, does best in cooler
climates. 4 x 4 ft, Z5/6
Margaret
Merrill (Harkness 1977) In
this photo the beautiful white high-centered flower has already fully
opened, releasing its strong citrus and spice fragrance. 4 x 3
ft. This one's on Tracy's top 12 list.
Miami Moon™
(WEKvosuimp - Caruuth
2002 PP13509)
An unusual shade of shrimp pink bedecks ruffled flowers on a
compact bushy plant. The color deepens in moderate temperatures.
Clean glossy leaves. 2+ x 2+ ft.
Norwich Castle (1979)
An orange to apricot hybrid-tea shaped bud
packed with petals opening ruffled. Moderate scent and one of the
earliest to bloom with continuous
flushes all season. A good cutting flower and a useful bush for bedding
or hedge plantings.Hard to find anymore, but definitely garden worthy.
Tolerant of
poor soil. 3+ x 2 ft. Hardy to zone 6.

Renae
(Moore
1954)
Climbing Floribunda, medium pink, fragrant, thornless,
vigorous, 10+ ft, with small glossy foliage that is quite
healthy. Perfect for pergola or arch and it's noted for being
"self-cleaning" which means it drops its petals after the blooms fade
(rather than hanging on to droopy browning flowers). Z5/6
Scentimental™
(WEKplapep - Carruth 1997 PP#10126)
The
first striped rose to win an All-American Rose Award. Dark red
swirled with white, and the pattern is different on the bottom of the
petal! Very fragrant (better be, with a name like that!) of rose
and spice. Good disease resistance. Vigorous 4 x 4 ft, Z6
Sheila's
Perfume
(Sheridan 1982) Floribunda/HT, yellow blend with shades orange and
pink. Very fragrant, disease resistant. Often blooming like
a Hybrid Tea, with one bloom to a stem. 3+ x 2 ft, Z5/6
Sun Flare Butter yellow clusters of fragrant flowers on a
compact plant with excellent disease resistance, way back from 1981
(Warriner). AARS 1983, Portland GM 1985. Even people who
don't "do" roses have asked us about this one because it is so
healthy. 2+ x 2 ft, Z6
Tawny Tiger (Fryer 2004)
Way different coloration and striped taboot! Orange/terra
cotta/russet/brown semi-double. 2 x 2 ft (taller in warmer
climates). OK down to zone 6b.
Vesper
(LeGrice 1966)
Here's a rose that deserves a comeback. Somewhat muted copper
colored orange blend flowers. Color deepens in cooler
weather. It just seems perfectly named. 2+ x 2 ft.
